ABOUT THE WOMEN DO BLOG

We have all felt the pressure to live up to others' standards or live life a certain way, but the truth is no one can ever live up to anything that wasn't meant for them or walk in a path that belongs to someone else. We are all individuals with different goals and passions. We have to do our lives our way, we have to live for ourselves, we have to forget the 'rules'.

July 1st is the one year anniversary of Women Do and I could not be happier about its progress as well as my own over the past 365 days.

At the beginning I made a commitment to post on social media (IG, FB) every day and write a blog every week, it was a promise I...

Do you ever have moments where you wish that you could stop time?

I sat at a table surrounded by some of my closest girlfriends where we laughed, we cried, and we shared our most intimate stories. They were stories that have caused us pain and joy, stories that have mol...

My dad has stood beside me through life’s ups and downs. He has pushed me to do things on my own, he has encouraged me to reach out for help, he has raised me to have an independent spirit, and he has given me the gift of mindful prayer before acting. He has taught me...

In honor of my 34th birthday today I bring to you some of the things I have learned along the way.

1. The expectations of others are not yours to live up to

We all have stories to tell because t...

My sister, Beth, is an incredible person which is something you will no doubt come away with after reading our interview. She is open and honest, hilarious and inappropriate, intelligent and tough, fun and bold. I don’t think I could ever fully explain how lucky I feel...

I often think about who I would be without her. About how different my life would be if I didn’t grow up with someone so willing to wear their heart on their sleeve. Would I still work to emulate her generosity? Would I still cry even if she hadn’t been there to teach...

When I moved to Louisville I didn’t get the Derby, and where were all these people going who took half the week off? I thought it was one day. Boy was I wrong! I made the very naïve mistake of thinking I would never get in to Derby, but here I am six years later and I...

This is one of those hard topics because EVERYONE has an opinion and most of us probably don’t agree. I want to make it very clear, from the beginning, that this piece is about telling you that dieting is bullshit. So if this isn’t for you, that’s OK, no judgment. We c...
